SOLEMN PROFESSION DATE

SOLEMN PROFESSION DATE: On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, the Subiaco Chapter of Solemnly Professed Monks considered the petition of Br. Gabriel Jannise to be accepted for solemn profession. Br. Gabriel had completed his candidacy, his novitiate, and was entering into his final months of temporary profession. The Chapter approved his petition and Abbot Elijah has now set Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 10:00 am as the date for the Mass of Solemn Profession. At that time, Br. Gabriel will make his life-long, solemn, perpetual vows as a Benedictine monk and receive his consecration. Br. Gabriel will bind himself "in a lifelong covenant" with Subiaco, as our Swiss-American Constitution describes it. Everyone is invited to attend this Mass. In the interim, please pray for Br. Gabriel and the monastic community of Subiaco. We are blessed and honored by Brother Gabriel's commitment and call to live out his life as a Benedictine monk in this most sacred and ancient order.
